I live in Portland, Oregon. Does anyone know any dealer, any seller, who has good prices on Cub Cadets? I'm considering a new 7205 20hp, 4x4, hydrostatic. The dealer says they list at $17,000 (untrue) and they sell them for $14,500. The Cub cadet factory site lists them for $14,204 (apx) so what's up?

Greg, you are a good man, you've done your homework. The dealer that told you that is either full of prunes, or an idiot, and at any rate should be avoided at all costs. The 7205 with mid mower, remote valve kit, and lift kit, sells in CT for $16600.00 msrp plus tax. Tractor: $14500, Mid Mower: $1200, Remote Valve Kit: $600, Lift Kit: $300. (I'm not sure, but I think that the mid pto is now optional and may cost extra) You can expect anywhere from 5% to 15% off depending on the dealer and if the MTD/Cub Cadet sales are offered. I have seen the complete 7205 with loader, mid mower and necessary options sell new, out the door, for $17200 during the spring sales period (financed through dealer). ....

Greg, I looked at cubs at the dealer in Woodland, WA a couple years ago. His prices seemed to be better than most. I ended up going for a JD 4100 hydro 4x4 instead of the cub. I'm selling it now if your interesed in a green tractor. I ended up buying a JD 855 from a friend as my new replacement. My 4100 has a loader and brush cutter and only 62hrs. Cheers, and good luck with your search. Kyle.............. ....

Kyle, Thanks for replying to my question on the board. Give me a ballpark figure for what your jd4100 would sell for. I am also considering the 4100 4wd with hydro but I looked at the front axle and saw it is small, thinner than the cub cadet 7205 and the 4100 has spur gear housings bolted onto the rear axle outboard ends. It looked weak to me. Lastly, the cub weighs 400 lbs. more and seems to be more strongly constructed. How has your 4100 been? What year is it? Thanks, what is your home email? mine is ellars@yahoo.com Greg ....
